Who can apply?

UCL staff and postgraduate students whose work has a connection to healthcare engineering or digital health.

What types of projects are we looking to support?

Any form of high-quality public engagement that catalyses meaningful interactions between UCL and the public. The National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement has excellent resources on what constitutes high-quality public engagement.

  • Artistic output

Examples of ways the funds can be used:

  • Paying experts for their skills (e.g., facilitators, artists, event assistants)
  • Catering

The funds can be used to support existing projects/projects with other sources of funding.

The funds cannot be used to fund UCL staff time. We also cannot fund conference travel.

What do you need to demonstrate in your application?

  • You have identified a public audience and considered their interests and requirements
  • Your activity will centre on two-way knowledge exchange or co-production
  • You have thought about how you will spend the funds
  • You have a plan in place to evaluate your engagement activity

If your application is successful, we ask that:

  • You use the Institute of Healthcare Engineering logo when promoting your activities and/or clearly state the funding source.
  • You create a short report, blog or video showcasing your project.
