Dr Martin’s work was chosen for its originality, advancement of knowledge, and contribution to the field of ethics education research. This award recognises outstanding work that enhances our understanding of ethics in education.
The National Ethics Project was initiated in 2015 through a collaboration of the Association of Practical and Professional Ethics (APPE) and the Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University.
At the conference, Diana presented current work on responsibility in engineering education, proposing a conceptual framework that has the potential to inform course design as well as the design of research instruments seeking to evaluate students’ understanding of their responsibilities as future professionals. A pilot version of the instrument has been applied to the UCL Integrated Engineering Programme’s first year cohort.
Diana and CEE Honorary Professor Shannon Chance also presented at the conference as part of a meet the authors session the newly launched Routledge International Handbook of Engineering Ethics Education, which is available open access.
