On 29 June 2024, Professor Arthur Petersen received the ‘Academic Fellow Award’ from the Institute on Religion in an Age of Science (IRAS). This US-based organisation grants the award as ‘a one-time act of recognition for scholarly activity, research and/or teaching in the disciplines covered by the Institute’s purpose and span of activities’. Besides having been the Editor of the journal Zygon: Journal of Religion and Science since 2018, the award was principally granted for his scholarly contribution to the field of science and religion through his book Climate, God and Uncertainty: A transcendental naturalistic approach beyond Bruno Latour (UCL Press, 2023). A token of the award was handed to Petersen on Star Island, NH, USA by the President of IRAS, Dr. Carolyn J. Love.
