Those planning to present at the Conference in Vancouver and those who applied were invited to present key points from their publications and display their posters, and those not attending the conference were able to hear about the content first hand.
Speakers came from from UCL Computer Science, the Department of Statistical Science, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, and also Media Tek Research in collaboration with UCL students.
The presentations featured various aspects of AI, from computer vision benchmarks and NLP to learning theory and optimization, with applications ranging from nuclear fusion to time series predictions.
The session was hosted by Professor Benjamin Guedj, Fredrik Hellström, Postdoc and Visiting Researcher (both based at the UCL AI Centre), and Chloé Hashimoto-Cullen, PhD student at the AI Centre and Sorbonne Université in Paris.
Attendees were able to learn about each other's research, and there was lots of discussion and networking over refreshments.
