Hosted by the Dubai Police HQ in London, the summit covered various aspects of designing and implemeting new policing strategies for the future.
As part of a thesis competition between PhD students, Noora Almarri won the first prize with her research on Batteryless Power Management Implants for Biomedical Applications.
On being acknowledged for her research Noora stated:
Currently, Dubai established Great Arab Minds which is the largest scientific movement in the Middle East to empower researchers. I am hoping to play a key role in this initiative and am grateful for this achievement as a step in that direction.My appreciation goes out to the EEE department for its commitment to empowering women in research and developing us into leaders!
The summit included STEM researchers studying in the UK and Europe who gathered to provide research insights and knowlegde exchange. Talks included topics like how community-oriented policing and new technologies could shape the next decade of policing.
Noora is PhD student under the supervision of Professor Andreas Demosthenes and Dr Dai Jiang.
