Mark graduated from the Biochemical Engineering MEng programme in 2002 and is one of several current and former UCL staff and students who have been recognised in the 2021 Queen's birthday honours list. Professor Rebecca Shipley (UCL Mechanical Engineering) was awarded an OBE for services to the development of the Continuous Positive Airways Pressure device during the pandemic, nationally and internationally.
