Working within the IEP team with mentors such as Prof. Sally Day and Dr. Chika Nweke has been a great learning experience. Many of the changes wouldn’t have been possible without their support and insight. For new PhDs, I would thoroughly recommend doing PGTA work at some point during your studies as the skills you learn will stay with you and prepare you well as an educator.

It was such a delight to read your nominations. On behalf of the IEP Team and the Electronic and Electrical Engineering department, I would like to thank you for being an exceptional leader on the ENGF0002 Design and Professional Skills I module. For a number of years now you have been an outstanding PGTA for your department through your seemingly effortless and consistent dedication to this year 1 module. You have shown true leadership in pulling together teams of markers for assignments and spotting issues before all others on the teaching team, only to simply take the initiative to solve them yourself. Your excellent relationship with the students is wonderful to read about, as your nomination points out that you not only see things from their perspective to provide the best answers to their questions, but are proactive in identifying areas for improvement amongst the teaching team. Your ability to work easily with people from across the department as well as the IEP and Careers Faculty Teams is magnificent, and you are praised for being highly reliable and having a work quality of the highest standard.
