The MSc research project conducted by Thomas James (now Earth Observation Specialist at WeGaw) and supervised by Dr Aldo Lipani from the SpaceTimeLab at UCL and Dr Calogero Schillaci from the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission on water mapping has been featured as an ESA Copernicus Sentinel Success Story.
This work is published in the International Journal of Remote Sensing in a paper titled: “Convolutional neural networks for water segmentation using sentinel-2 red, green, blue (RGB) composites and derived spectral indices”.
