On Friday, 23rd February 2018, the Global Management of Natural Resources MSc cohort visited Finland’s Olkuluoto nuclear power station visitor centre, and undertook a series of talks and a guided tour of the low and medium level nuclear waste underground repository site. The weather was on the chilly side, but clear and crisp!

The tour was conducted by Posiva and Fortum; we were joined by managing director, Mika Pohjonen who gave us a lecture and stayed with us during the day. The students were also shown an underground reconstruction of the deep level repository for high level waste, currently under construction on the same site, and a world first. The visit was a fantastic success, and thoroughly enjoyed by all!
