Biomedical Engineering is a growing field that applies engineering technology to medical problems. The course is built on a multi-disciplinary engineering foundation and provides a grounding in the practical application of engineering principles and design concepts to healthcare technologies. Our programme draws on the research strengths of UCL and its excellent links to local hospitals, preparing you to work in a wide range of technology areas, ranging from imaging and diagnosis to monitoring and treatment.
Medical physicists apply fundamental physical principles to improve human health. We are behind many of the lifesaving procedures and imaging carried out by modern medics, informing diagnosis, treatment, and the maintenance of health.
Our undergraduate programmes are taught in collaboration between UCL Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering and UCL Physics and Astronomy giving you the unique opportunity to learn from two research-intensive, world-leading academic departments and benefit from the wide range of networking opportunities within the fields of physics and medical physics.
