Project Summary
This project studies the perceptions of ethnically and racially marginalised youth in select neighbourhoods of London, their experiences and interactions with the police and law enforcement agencies, their proximity and propensity to violent crime, and how community 'mediators' (e.g. youth and religious organisations) influence minority youth, affect their decision-making processes, and shape their sense of social belonging and social identity.
Planned Outputs & Impact
Planned outputs include academic papers, conference presentations, public engagement and knowledge-exchange activities, and presentation of findings at an IGCP seminar.
