UCL academics inform policymakers on healthcare engineering and digital health issues in a range of ways. Members of our community are shaping policy through providing advice to Government and policy organisations, undertaking commissioned research, sitting on roundtable meetings and more.
Some notable examples of policy engagement include:
Prof Ann Blandford, Professor of Human-Computer Interaction and IHE Deputy-Director (Digital) gave spoken evidence to the House of Lords Science and Technology Select Committee’s inquiry into Ageing: Science, Technology and Healthy Living.
In November and December 2019, Alasdair Love, Clerk to the House of Lords Communications and Digital Select Committee, was seconded to the UCL Policy Impact Unity within STEaPP.
The briefing document was developed from a roundtable discussion at the UCL Festival for Digital Health, which included industry, policymakers, healthcare practitioners and patients.
