Foundations of Teaching, Learning and Scholarship for STEM PGTAs (Short course)
Build practical confidence in STEM teaching through approaches to facilitation, feedback, inclusion and reflective educational practice. Part of our summer short course series.
Course overview
This three-day course introduces effective teaching, learning and scholarship in engineering and STEM higher education. Drawing on research and curriculum innovation from UCL’s Integrated Engineering Programme and wider STEM education practice, it supports participants to teach confidently in laboratories, tutorials, workshops and project-based settings. The course covers learning in STEM, inclusive teaching, constructive feedback, and approaches to practitioner reflection and development. Participants will leave with practical teaching strategies, stronger confidence, and a clearer sense of how to support high-quality student learning.

- Postgraduate Teaching Assistants in engineering and STEM disciplines.
