Giulio De Pasquale is a Security Researcher at Apple, working to protect Apple's ecosystem.
His journey in computer security started during his undergraduate studies at Politecnico di Milano, Italy, and led him to pursue a PhD at King's College London, where he focused on software security, specifically investigating obfuscation techniques and automated exploitation with an emphasis on privilege escalation vulnerabilities.
Throughout his academic career, Giulio has been actively involved in the competitive security scene, participating in numerous Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions with several teams. He started with Tower of Hanoi, later joining Shellphish and mHACKeroni, and concluded by competing at the DEFCON CTF finals. His passion for these competitions and security education led him to co-found Phish 'n' Chips, King's College London's CTF team.
Giulio's research interests lie in low-level system security. He is particularly fond of reverse engineering and understanding how systems work at their core. His work spans IoT device security to automated vulnerability analysis, combining theoretical research with practical applications.
