About the Speakers

Danielle Belgrave

Principal Research Manager at Microsoft

Danielle Belgrave is Principal Research Manager at Microsoft in the Healthcare Intelligence group at Microsoft Research, in Cambridge (UK) where she works on Project Talia, which explores how a human-centric approach to machine learning can meaningfully assist in the detection, diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of mental health problems. Dr Belgrave’s research focuses on integrating medical domain knowledge, probabilistic graphical modelling and causal modelling frameworks to help develop personalized treatment and intervention strategies for healthcare.

Parashkev Nachev

Professor of Neurology, UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology at UCL

Parashkev Nachev is a Professor of Neurology at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, and Honorary Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square. His High-Dimensional Neurology Group is funded by the Wellcome Trust to develop novel computational methods in the domain of neurology for predicting clinical outcomes and guiding therapy with individual-level precision.

Dr Adriano Koshiyama is a Research Fellow within Computer Science at University College London. His interests include Machine Learning, Finance, and Algorithmic Assessment. He is a specialist in designing trustworthy autonomous systems.
