Centenary Joel Lecture: 100 Years of Medical Physics
This year's Joel Lecture marks the 100th anniversary of the Joel Chair for physics applied to medicine.

This year's Joel Lecture marks the 100th anniversary of the Joel Chair, the first endowed professorship of physics applied to medicine in the UK — and one of the first such positions in the world. From Sidney Russ in 1920 to current Joel Chair Professor Robert Speller, we celebrate a century of scientific progress in this field at our annual Joel Lecture.
The programme will include two PhD speakers as well as the keynote Joel Lecture delivered this anniversary year by former Head of Department of Medical Physics & Biomedical Engineering, Professor Jem Hebden.
The event will be followed by an evening reception in the Engineering Building Foyer.
