She was a postdoctoral researcher at Imperial College London and CEDEX, Spain. Her research interests are within geotechnical earthquake engineering, specifically the constitutive behaviour of sandy material under cyclic loading, from both experimental and numerical points of view, as well as on the effect of dynamic loadings on the foundation of offshore structures and ground improvement techniques.
Dr. Lopez-Querol is author/co-author of more than 50 international peer reviewed publications. She has supervised 5 PhD students to completion and is currently supervising 5 more. She has led c.10 research projects funded by public institutions and industry, and is a reviewer in many international journals, a member of several editorial boards, and a reviewer of research proposals for international organisations such as such as Research Grants Council (RGC) and Ministerio della Università a della Ricerca, Italy and UKNC for UNESCO.

I am a Civil Engineering Graduate from the American University of Beirut (AUB). I’m currently pursuing an MSc in Civil Engineering with Integrated Design. I’m 22 years old; I started my Masters here at UCL as soon as I finished my undergraduate studies at AUB. In terms of work experience, I have 3 months’ worth of construction knowledge and 1-month worth of Structural Design, both in Qatar and Lebanon. My passion is construction and field work; I have an ambition to revolutionize the industry by integrating ideal managerial and technological methods into my field of work. I came to do a Master's in Civil Engineering at UCL to improve my technical knowledge, especially in Structures and Geotechnics, to be able to play the role of an ‘ideal’ engineer who is familiar with both the managerial and the technical aspects of construction. In my free time, I go out with my friends or watch movies and documentaries.
