Launching the Departmental Forum
Each month, the Forum will provide a place for staff and students to keep up with peers and colleagues. Fast-talk presentations on a specific topic each month will focus on issues that are central to life in the Department of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering.
This month's October Forum will highlight new fellowship holders and early career researchers, as well as an introduction by the new Head of Department.
Programme
Prof Andy Nisbet, Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering's Head of Department, will introduce this new monthly seminar and give an overview of the importance of multidisciplinary discussion.
Dr Catarina Veiga is currently an early career researcher (supported by a 5 year Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellowship since 2018) working on studying and minimising the harmful effects of radiation therapy in childhood cancer patients.
Dr Richard Colchester recently received a five-year Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellowship for his work on all-optical ultrasound imaging, a system that uses light to both generate and receive ultrasound.
