Centre for Engineering Education lunchtime seminar November 2018
Centre for Engineering Education Lunchtime Seminar: "Introducing Phenomenography" is a qualitative research method that explores variation in the ways individuals experience and understand educational phenomena.

The seminar will introduce phenomenographic approaches to generating and analysing data after describing the method's historical development and the position of phenomenography within the wider qualitative paradigm. Drawing on a study with Engineering students, participants will discuss how the results of phenomenographic studies might contribute to more meaningful engagement in higher education.
Dr Mike Mimirinis is a Senior Lecturer in Higher Education Studies at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. His research broadly explores variation in the ways academics and students experience and understand teaching, learning and assessment. His most recent study reports on qualitative differences in academics' conceptions of e-assessment (Assessment and Evaluation in Higher Education).
