UCL Engineering Dean’s Prize

The Dean’s Prize is a scholarship that supports outstanding overseas fee-paying research students by covering the cost of their fees. Full details can be found on the main UCL Scholarships site.

China Scholarships Council (CSC)

The CSC provides bursaries to students from China coming to study in the UK. At UCL these are linked to Dean’s Prize awards with the Dean’s Prize paying fees and the CSC paying a stipend. Full details can be found on the main UCL Scholarships site.

Students intending to study in the Faculty of Engineering Sciences at UCL who wish to apply for a CSC bursary must first have applied successfully for the Engineering Dean’s Prize.

Martingale Foundation Scholarships (including Google DeepMind AI Master's Scholarship)

Applications for the Martingale Foundation Scholarship, including the Google DeepMind AI Master's Scholarship, are open from 13th August - 19th October 2025. 

The comprehensive scholarship covers tuition fees, a research budget and a living wage stipend. Successful candidates will also benefit from additional support and training via the Martingale Development Progamme.

Snowdon Masters Scholarships

The Snowdon Masters Scholarships is for national and international disabled students applying for a Master's programme at any UK institution that starts in 2025.

The scholarship has been designed to identify, accelerate and support talented disabled individuals to achieve their higher education goals.

The application process is managed by the Snowdon Trust.

All programmes are eligible to apply, although we do encourage applications from MSc Disability, Design and Innovation.

UCL EPSRC DTP Studentship 

Details of the 2025/26 application cycle are expected December 2024.

The UCL EPSRC DTP is recruiting fully funded studentships for 2025/26, to undertake fully-funded four-year PhD (including EngD)  in a wide range of subject areas.

PGIM Scholarship Programme – Computer Science MSc Scholarships

Details of the 2026/27 application cycle are expected Spring 2026.

Applicants holding an offer, conditional or unconditional, for one of the eligible programmes, who are either Home or Overseas fee status may apply.

Applications will be considered on the basis of household annual income and a demonstration of an interest in entrepreneurship.

The value of the scholarship typically covers tuition fees in full, and a maintenance stipend. The stipend will be paid as monthly instalments to the bank account of the successful candidates.

UCL Friends and Alumni Association (UCLFAA) Machine Learning Scholarship

Applicants who have applied for MSc Computational Statistics and Machine Learning, MSc Data Science and Machine Learning, or MSc Machine Learning, and are ordinarily domiciled in the United States of America, may be eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Applications will be considered on the basis of excellent academic achievement and financial need.

The value of the scholarship can be paid as either a direct credit against tuition fees, or as monthly instalments to the bank account of the successful candidate. The successful candidate will be asked to confirm their preference at the point of acceptance.

The following programmes are eligible to apply for 2025/26 entry:

  • MSc Computational Statistics and Machine Learning
  • MSc Data Science and Machine Learning
  • MSc Machine Learning

Value: $20,000

Application information: 

UCL ordinarily requires those with confirmed offers to pay a tuition fee deposit within 4 weeks of an offer being made. Please notify the Graduate Admissions Office, via their contact form, ideally within 1 week of receiving a programme offer to confirm your scholarship application, so UCL’s systems can be updated to defer your deposit date before it becomes due. This will postpone your deposit due date until after scholarship decisions have been made, at which point, non-awardees will become liable for the full amount of the deposit.
