Facilities
At UCL Computer Science, we are committed to providing our students with state-of-the-art facilities that enhance your learning, research, and overall academic experience.

Our facilities are designed to meet the diverse needs of our students, whether they are engaging in complex computational tasks, collaborative research, or independent projects.
Bloomsbury Campus
High-Performance Labs (Rooms 105 and 1.21, Malet Place)
Our high-spec labs are equipped with more than 50 powerful PCs featuring the latest CPUs, NVIDIA RTX 40 series GPUs and up to 128 GB of RAM. These machines are built for intensive tasks such as machine learning, data processing, and advanced programming.
You can access the PCs in person or remotely, making it easier to continue your work from anywhere. For long-running jobs, such as AI model training, our remote GPU service lets you run tasks securely over extended periods.
Each lab is designed for comfort and productivity, with large desks, adjustable chairs, modern lighting and on-desk power outlets (USB-A, USB-C and mains). Room 105 also includes a surround sound system and multiple screens with HDMI switching, ideal for presentations or group projects. Labs 105 and 1.21 also feature a dual-room setup so you can share content across both spaces during classes or events.
You’ll use these labs during your undergraduate or postgraduate studies for project work, assessments and taught modules involving generative AI, programming, and software development. You might even work on projects like a motion input system designed to improve accessibility.

Lab 406
Lab 406 is a flexible workspace where you can work independently or in groups using your own laptop or one of the large external monitors. It includes nine large screens, making it easy to collaborate and develop ideas with others.
Like our other labs, this space has been upgraded with ergonomic desks, comfortable chairs, and good lighting. Power outlets are available at each workstation to keep your devices charged.
Other Computer Science Facilities
Bloomberg Lab
Located at Euston 169, the Bloomberg Lab gives you access to financial computing tools and professional-grade software. With powerful PCs, widescreen monitors, and free printing, it's an ideal space for financial modelling and economic data analysis. You can also borrow specialist equipment, including laptops and virtual reality (VR) headsets.
Virtual Reality Lab
For Virtual Reality research, UCL Computer Science has state-of-the-art facilities across two Virtual Reality labs, supporting research and teaching in immersive technologies.
Located at Euston 169, our head-mounted display and motion capture lab is equipped with a range of headsets – from multiple consumer-level systems such as Meta Quest 3 to cutting-edge systems like Varjo XR4 and Apple Vision Pro.
Located at Malet Place, our newly upgraded Immersive Displays Lab comprises a CAVE-hybrid projection theatre for HMD-free VR, facilitating different types of interaction and providing a less encumbered experience. This lab also hosts a range of haptic systems for simulating weight and force in VR.

UCL East Campus
UCL East, based at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, is our newest campus and the home to the following programmes: Robotics and AI MEng, Disability, Design and Innovation MSc, Robotics and AI MSc and Systems Engineering for the Internet of Things MSc. One Pool Street
This vibrant space features research labs, teaching studios, a lecture theatre that doubles as a cinema, a café, a shop, and accommodation for more than 500 students. It brings together learners and researchers from areas such as ecology, technology, urbanism, and heritage.
