Why did you choose this course?

Since my undergrad, I had a deep interest in AI, understating how the brain works and how we can use this knowledge to help people have better lives, that's why I’m interested in AI, and I think being a visual thinker made computer vision a natural choice.

What’s the best thing about studying at the Computer Science department?

Working with nice welcoming people.

What challenges have you faced in your studies so far and how did you overcome them?

During the last few months, I realised that I usually rush to conclusions and that made me arrive at wrong answers.

Thanks to my supervisors, I can see a difference now in my thought process. I became more organized, worked more efficiently and better at prioritizing my thoughts and ideas. And of course, always there is more room for improvement.

What things do you wish you’d known before starting at UCL?

Not so many things but I think it may be related to my study. I would like to have a better background in classical AI and computer graphics.

What does equity mean to you?

Treating people fairly or justly while considering all the uncontrolled factors of difference among them. Recognising not all start from the same place, and we need to acknowledge and adjust for that.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

Don’t measure yourself with others, people develop at different speeds at different times in different directions.

Who inspires you and why?

Richard P. Feynman - an American theoretical physicist and mathematician. I believe Feynman inspires me because he was not just a brilliant mathematician and physicist who received the Nobel prize in physics, but he was also a great inspirational lecturer on scientific topics.

Where would you like to be in 5 years?

I like teaching a lot and having an impact on others so I would like to be a professor at a respectful university teaching and helping other students become researchers.

But also, I do like having another kind of impact, so along with my work as a professor, I would like to be a research scientist in a company or build my own AI startup that helps people in education and learning.

Python.
