Legacy and Future Research
We are committed to advancing a Circular Economy in the built environment for a sustainable, equitable future through collaboration and innovation.
As we look ahead, the ICEC-MCM community remains dedicated to driving progress toward a Circular Economy that can meet the demands of a growing population and mitigate climate change, in a challenging context of rapid technological change, growing societal inequality, and geopolitical instability. We are excited about collaborations with existing and future partners, and the strides we will continue to make, helping to secure a sustainable future for our built environment and the society that depends on it. Thank you for your support and interest in our work; we look forward to the discoveries and innovations that lie ahead.
ICE-SRM UK is a pioneering initiative that will deliver resource efficient and circular economy solutions for the UK, Europe and world. The partnership between Defra (Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs) and UK academia will develop sustainable solutions to waste management and wider resource use by leveraging cutting-edge research, international collaboration, and innovative partnerships, to pave the way to a more sustainable and circular future.
The Circular Economy Lab is an exciting cross-faculty, cross-discipline initiative, that aimed to use UCL's expertise to improve the design of buildings and products, their re-use and recycling, and the return of their constituent materials back to the economy.
