There are many benefits to leading an active lifestyle - it reduces stress, alleviates chronic pain and improves movement. However, physical inactivity is the fourth-leading cause of death worldwide.
New technologies are transforming our ability to capture lifestyle data on individuals in real time and encourage appropriate physical activities.
The GetAMoveOn Network+ is an interdisciplinary community of researchers and practitioners funded by EPSRC. Their aim is to transform health through enabling mobility with the help of digital technologies. They are focusing on school children, office workers and older adults. They will be pump-priming research to advance the design and development of innovative technologies to get people moving more. The group will be funding a range of workshops, pilot projects and other research activities.
The project is a collaboration between UCL, University of Southampton and University of Bristol.
