Early Modern Exchanges

Picture of monkey, early modern people

The Centre for Early Modern Exchanges (EME) was founded in 2010. It hosts an MA in Early Modern Studies, and runs a lively research seminar series.

EME works closely with the Centre for Editing Lives and Letters (CELL). CELL is a collaborative research laboratory exploring pioneering digital solutions to archival questions; the Centre’s expertise is primarily in the early modern period, but its focus is wide ranging, incorporating both the handwritten and the printed word.

Both research centres are members of UCL's Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS).

EME is grouped with several other research centres under the auspices of the Centre for Multidisciplinary and Intercultural Inquiry (CMII), which in turn is part of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
