UCL Intelligent Radio Frequency Sensing

Funder: Air Force Office of Scientific Research

Lead partner: UCL Electronic and Electrical Engineering

Lead academic: Dr Matt Ritchie

Project amount: £139,866

Research themes: Radar & RF engineering

Project period: 1 Sep 2023 - 31 Aug 2026

Project description: This proposal looks to conduct fundamental exploratory research into the domain of adaptive sensing that leverages the new paradigm of intelligent sensing, namely the usage of cognition within Radio Frequency (RF) sensing scenarios. The research will investigate concepts and study methods that move RF sensing forward from a static, predictable, rule-based concept towards a highly adaptive and intelligent sensing idea. This research program is planned to run for 3 years in the first instance and will be undertaken by the Radar Research Group at University College London (UCL).
