'Being part of DSPP (Economics pathway) cohort at UCL really provided me with an outstanding foundation to launch my career. Going straight from my undergraduate to master’s I was able to build in on my skills to a deeper level. The part I enjoyed the most on the course was the opportunity to blend rigorous econometrics theory with cutting-edge data science techniques. The curriculum’s unique combination of economics, statistics and programming allowed me to develop a well-rounded skill set that has been directly applicable to my current role.

Working within Deloitte Strategy, Risk and Transactions team focusing on advisory services, the hands-on experience with real-world data, coupled with learning advanced statistical measures allows me to provide technical expertise to analyse complex problems for my clients. As well as having the ability to analyse complex data, I am also able to forecast trends and model economic scenarios, which skills allow me to provide strategic insights for clients navigating risk and making informed decision in a growing economy.  

Another invaluable aspect of the program was the opportunity to network with brilliant individuals from diverse academic and professional backgrounds. Engaging with talented peers, experienced faculty, and industry allowed me to build on my network and learn from professionals in the field as to how the world is changing and what we bring to that change. The network opportunity inspired my current career goals and continue to support me on my career journey.

Moreover, the collaborative environment on the course really built on my communication and teamwork skills - both key assets in my day-to day work. Overall, the course deepened my understanding of economics and econometrics modelling while being equipped with data-driven tools essential for solving modern challenges across various industries.'
