'Participating in the MSc Data Science and Public Policy (Economics) program has been an incredibly fulfilling experience that has significantly shaped my professional journey. The program’s interdisciplinary nature provided a unique combination of analytical and technical skills, combining data science techniques with an understanding of economic principles. What I enjoyed the most was the hands-on approach to learning, particularly through practical projects that mirrored practical challenges.

Using publicly available datasets and using them to analyse policy impacts and economic trends allowed me to improve my technical proficiency and ability to communicate data-driven insights. With modules such as Statistical Programming for Public Policy and Machine Learning in Economics, I gained exposure to advanced methodologies and tools that are directly applicable to real-world problems.

The program emphasised not only technical skills but also the importance of critical thinking and ethnical considerations in data analysis. These elements have equipped me to approach complex policy and economic issues with precision and responsibility. I also got the opportunity to be a student representative.

The course and university provide plenty of opportunities to take part in leadership roles, helping to build skills outside of my professional journey.  Overall, the MSc Data Science and Public Policy program has provided me with the expertise and confidence to deliver evidence-based solutions and contribute meaningfully to society.'
