Professor Andrew Chesher receives honorary doctorate from the University of Birmingham

Andrew Chesher is William Stanley Jevons Professor of Economics and Economic Measurement at UCL.  In 2000, he founded the ESRC Centre for Microdata Methods and Practice (Cemmap) and was recently President of the Royal Economic Society.

Professor Chesher graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1970 with a Bachelor of Social Science in Mathematics, Economics and Statistics. He was a lecturer at Birmingham until 1983 before becoming Professor of Econometrics at the University of Bristol.

This week he was named among those receiving honorary degrees from the University of Birmingham.
