William Gosset (1876 - 1937)

Gosset worked briefly in the UCL Department of Applied Statistics and was discoverer of the t test for a sample mean.

Gosset was employed as a chemist by the brewers, Arthur Guinness and Sons. While working at UCL he lived in Wimbledon and later returned to London to work at the newly opened Guinness plant in Park Royal in west London.
