Prof Lambis Petridis wins UCL Education Award

In the 2024 UCL Education Awards, Prof Lambis Petridis, Head of Prosthodontics at UCL Eastman, received a Provost's Education Award in the category of 'Improving the Student Experience.'
Professor Lambis Petridis received the award in acknowledgement of his personal leadership and contribution to the development of clinical and laboratory digital workflows within UCL Eastman Dental Institute. His work has resulted in significantly improved infrastructure, processes and culture that enhances the teaching and learning experience for Institute's staff and student community as well as the global reputation of UCL and UCL Eastman Dental Institute. These workflows now allow the Institute to teach postgraduates the most advanced way of creating dental appliances such as crowns, implants, and dentures by virtue of CAD/CAM using highly specialised scanners and state-of-the art 3D printers and milling technology. Prof Petridis has achieved positive change through considered collaboration with multiple stakeholders and he has received highly positive feedback from students, staff, external examiners, and NHS clinical leads.
On receiving the award Professor Petridis said: "I'm delighted to receive this award as it is the result of years of work to bring the Eastman to the forefront of digital dentistry. I would like to extend my thanks to all my colleagues and our team in the Unit of Prosthodontics as this is the reflection of their hard work and dedication through a team effort towards this vision. We are continuing to enhance our capabilities and knowledge to stay ahead and continue to improve our student experience and teaching.”
