TC White Travel Fellowship 2020
26 March 2020
The Institute was pleased to assist Dr Dhaval Pandya during his recent attachment to UCLH Eastman Hospital funded by a TC White Travel Fellowship of the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Glasgow.
The academic staff of the Periodontology unit provided Dr Pandya with insight into the educational and research programmes of the Institute while Professor Stephen Porter discussed the challenges of the interface between periodontal disease and disorders of other body systems.
The TC White Travel Fellowship remains an important source of funding for such clinical and/or academic visitations that allow the establishment of fruitful collaborations.
“Dr Pandya said: "I chose to undergo my observership training in periodontology at UCLH Eastman Dental Hospital because it is a world class academic centre of excellence.
"Right from the first initial introduction Professor Francesco D'Aiuto and his entire unit has been very cooperative and supportive.
"I would like to thank the entire unit staff. Overall, this clinical observation has given me a 360-degree approach in comprehensive periodontal unit working at different levels.
"Their work, along with their publications which are presented at some of the leading scientific meetings around the world, inspires me to further raise the standards of patient care and well-being."
