Distance-learning degrees

Our blended learning degrees are mainly delivered online with practical skills lab work and group exercises hosted at the Institute once, twice or three times a year.

distance online learning
Study materials including lecture notes, podcasts and interactive tools are available to students via UCL’s virtual learning environment. Postgraduates and course leaders keep in touch through regular contact sessions and are encouraged to interact with each other via online study groups and forums.

Online programmes are particularly suitable for working dentists who need flexibility in their learning pattern or those who are geographically distant from the Institute. They are designed to engage participants in a learning experience that is inclusive and stimulating without the need to constantly visit campus and be ‘on-site’. Many of the following degrees also allow you to exit at multiple points with a lesser qualification (Certificate, Diploma etc) according to modules completed.

Periodontology MSc

This programme will offer the busy General Dental Practitioner the opportunity to acquire intensive knowledge of the basic principles of periodontal and peri-implant diseases, the ability to assess the periodontal needs of a patient, the skills for non-surgical therapy, the understanding of surgical management of advanced periodontal cases and the fundamentals of diagnosis and treatment planning in periodontology. Find out more
