Research Summary

Rosie is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Polar Observation and Modelling, Earth Sciences, UCL. She has an MSci in Astronomy and PhD in Geophysics from UCL (2006 and 2012) and has worked for the European Space Agency.
Her research looks at remote sensing of sea ice, particularly radar interaction with snow cover on sea ice, using observations to investigate how snow conditions affect radar return echoes. This is a key uncertainty in retrievals of sea ice thickness using satellite radar altimetry. She has fieldwork experience in the Arctic and Antarctica, planning and executing experiments and operating from ship/aeroplane.
