Welcome to Dr Debi Vickers' lab page.
Our lab focuses on
optimising outcomes with auditory implants and hearing aids through
training programmes, fitting interventions and the development of
sensitive and realistic outcome measures. Our current work concentrates
on brain changes following implantation, maximising binaural processing,
optimising fitting parameters, music training to improve listening
skills, the development of real-life listening assessments and candidacy
criteria for cochlear implants.
Our lab makes the link between theoretical and laboratory based research and translates this into real world applications.
Debi is co-lead with Prof Shakeel Saeed, of the "Transforming Hearing Devices" sub-theme within the "Deafness and Hearing" theme of the BRC which is led by Prof Anne Schilder.
