IEB2024: Warsaw, Poland | 15-17th September

Ear Institute researchers at the Inner Ear Biology conference 2024 in Warsaw.

Following on from IEB2023 hosted last year by the Ear Institute, a good EI representation headed off to the 59th Inner Ear Biology Workshop in Warsaw, Poland last week, with selected talks from Carlos Aguilar, Javier de Andres, Magdalena Zak, and a plenary talk from Jonathan Gale. Jonathan also took part in panel line-up along with 7 colleagues from across the world to discuss "Selected Problems of the Inner Ear Physiology and Pathology". Many congratulations to Javi for being awarded a special recognition for his talk, being awarded a framed certificate in the Spoendlin Junior Award session.
Javi said “..attending the IEB in Warsaw was a very memorable experience for me, especially as it was my first international conference. Having the opportunity to give a presentation was both exciting and a bit nerve-wracking, but the support and engagement from colleagues at the EI made it a very enriching experience. Being recognized with an award was a moment of pride and gratitude that solidified my dedication to start a PhD. The conference not only expanded my knowledge but also allowed me to start connecting with experts and peers from all over the world, reinforcing my passion for research in inner ear biology.”
Many thanks to the organisers for bringing together such a variety of topics and terrific lineup. We had fantastic time in Warsaw, networking and discussing research ideas with inner ear experts from all over the world….and there were even fireworks!
The organisers handed over the baton to Prof Anthony Gummer who invited everyone to Tübingen for IEB2025, the 60th Inner Ear Biology Workshop which will take place on the 13-16th September – save the dates!
