UCL Ear Institute’s Bhavisha Parmar nominated for the Audiologist of the Year Award
12 October 2020
The BAA's award (in memory of Peggy Chalmers) recognises an Audiologist who stands out from the crowd with regards to patient care.
The British Academy of Audiology (BAA) nominated Ear Institute's PhD Student Bhavisha Parmar for their 2020 Audiologist of the Year Award. This award celebrates an individual who has gone above and beyond to put the patient first, or improve their experience in even a small way, making a significant difference to them. It is focused on patient care and was created in memory of Peggy Chalmers.
On being nominated, Bhavisha said:
I was honoured, humbled and very surprised to receive the nomination for Audiologist of the Year from the British Academy of Audiology. I love being an Audiologist and I think it is one of the most rewarding jobs. I feel grateful to be surrounded by so many amazing clinicians, researchers, teachers, patients and research participants. A special thank you must go to my research participants who have motivated me throughout my PhD and I was recently informed that the nomination for this award has come from one of them.
The award winner will be announced on 26 November.
