Compensating for cortical visual dysfunction in Alzheimer's disease
Seeing what they see is a four-year Economic Social and Research Council (ESRC) and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funded programme led by Sebastian Crutch.
This programme aims to advance our understanding of the functional impact of dementia-related visual impairment.
Home-based interventions which address dementia-related visual impairment will then be developed, in order to improve independence and quality of life of individuals with dementia and their caregivers.

Eye movements when looking at scenes help to characterise visual dysfunction in posterior cortical atrophy (PCA) (Crutch et al., 2012).
More information about posterior cortical atrophy can be found on the PCA Support Group website.
