Foot cover for a mummy

Modeled foot coverings were sometimes placed on wrapped mummies. If you look at the design on the top and bottom of the cover, you can see the sandals shown on these feet are trampling the bound enemies beneath. Similar scenes were used on royal sandals in earlier periods but now appear on these non-royal foot covers.

If you move along the the sides of the foot cover, you can see the area around the feet has a checkerboard design that may imitate textile. Because of the fragility of the object, the interior surface could not be completely imaged and has been reconstructed.
