Shabti funerary figure

Shaped like the shabtis found in burial chambers, this roughly carved wooden funerary figure also represents the image of the deceased. However, these ‘stick’-like shabtis were instead dedicated by family members as part of rituals and festivals taking place in the public areas of the tomb.

If you zoom in on the lower body of the shabti, you can see the inscription in black ink on the front and side of the figure asks for offerings of bread, beer and oxen for the deceased, named Teti-sa-intef.
