Note: this talk will be part of the UCLDH Painless Introduction series starting in the new academic year, October 2011

In this Painless Introduction Lesley Pitman will talk about the role UCL Library Services plays in creating digital content, with examples from the recent 19th Century Pamphlets Online project, and the current EuropeanaTravel project. She will outline the processes which the Library undertakes in any digitisation project, and highlight the specialist skills which library staff can contribute to digital humanities projects more generally.

Lesley is Librarian and Director of Information Services at the UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies Library, part of UCL Library Services. She chairs the Digitisation Steering Group for Library Services, and is currently a work package leader for the EuropeanaTravel project.
