About the Speakers

Yannik Herbert

Doctoral Researcher at Faculty of History, University of Oxford

My research interests center around the history of navigation and transportation networks, using digital representations of 17th, 18th, and 19th century public transport systems to build a detailed picture of mobility in Early Modern Britain.

Michael Ganslmeier

Lecturer in Humanities Data Science at Department of Information Studies, UCL

Michael’s research sits at the intersection of data science, causal inference, and social science/humanities. He develops and applies quantitative methods to study complex social and policy processes in settings where randomized experiments are infeasible.
