The topic of this Decoding Digital Humanities will involve discussions about "A Day in the Life of Digital Humanities 2011". This is a project that looks at a day in the working life of people involved in the digital humanities. This will be the third such event and the some of our involvement last year can be seen at the blog post where their details are pulled together.
The organisers have made this reading available:
Rockwell et al 2010: A Day in the Life of Digital Humanities.
Digital Humanities 2010. (pp.208-211). London: Office for Humanities
Communication. (PDF)
We have also decided to change locations. Despite the good beer, the Wheatsheaf was
incredibly noisy and we couldn't hear
ourselves think. Foster
Court has a nice new Common Room, with lovely red sofas, so we will be giving that a try. Wine will be
provided! To save you getting lost we provide a map showing the Malet Place entrance and Foster Court (the Common Room is along the corridor from G32).
As per usual: if you cannot make this date but are interested in future meetings, you can join the the DDH e-list!
If you have any suggestions for subjects to discuss or articles to read you can email your suggestions to decodingdh@ucl.ac.uk or leave a comment on the DH Blog.
