MiniMD in Medical Imaging (13/6 - 23/6/17)
Jun 12, 2017 09:00 AM
End: Jun 23, 2017 05:00 PM
Location: Royal Free Hospital and National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, London
MiniMD is a two-week intensive course that provides non-clinical scientists with direct insight into the clinical pathway. Participants will meet patients, experience the elements of the clinical pathway and engage with clinicians.
Participants on MiniMD in Medical Imaging will gain first hand clinically supervised experience of:
- Multidisciplinary Team meetings;
- Clinical diagnostics;
- Out-patient clinics;
- Operating theatre sessions;
- Ward rounds.
The MiniMD will focus on vascular and neurological imaging and will be particularly relevant for those working in imaging. There will be no didactic lectures. The MiniMD is an entirely immersive experience.
The MiniMD will not take up the entire two week period, but prospective participants are encouraged to block the time off in their diaries. When clinic timetables are confirmed in early June participants will be able to identify time when they can go back to their normal work. However, it will not be possible to confirm when free time might occur until clinic timetables are confirmed.
Participants are encouraged to throw themselves into the challenging and, at times, uncertain life of a clinician. We have found in the past that participants who are most invested in the experience get the most out of it.
How to register an interest:
