UCL Deafness Cognition and Language Research Centre

PhD positions at DCAL

The Deafness, Cognition and Language Research Centre (DCAL) invites applications from highly motivated students seeking to undertake a PhD project under its associated degree-programmes. DCAL consists of a multidisciplinary team of linguists, psychologists and neuroscientists that study language, cognition and the brain from the unique perspective of deafness and deaf communication. Applications are invited for students interested in multidisciplinary approaches to these subjects. Applicants will be supported to apply for programmes through different schemes in UCL’s Division of Psychology and Language Sciences. These programmes have different deadlines in December and January. Candidates are encouraged to get in touch with potential supervisors as soon as possible. You can find out more about their research areas here: https://www.ucl.ac.uk/dcal/people

Interested students should get in touch with a copy of their CV and a one-page statement of their research ideas and why they are interested in studying at DCAL.

We particularly encourage applications from deaf and hard of hearing students and/or students from minority ethnic groups who are currently under-represented at UCL and DCAL.
