I graduated from Xi'an
International Studies University with a BA in English literature and language,
and completed in 2014 a
MA degree in linguistics in East
China Normal
University. My MA thesis
focused on phonological handshape segment in Shanghai
variant of Chinese Sign Language and aimed to answer questions such as whether
the difference between two similar handshapes is allophonic or phonological so
as to abstract a handshape phoneme inventory of Shanghai variant. I am currently a PhD
student at DCAL under the supervision of Prof. Bencie Woll and Dr. Kearsy
Cormier. My research during PhD period will be the lexical comparison among
regional variants of Chinese Sign Language, especially the variants in Beijing and Shanghai.
