Release from DCAL and Deafland UK.

15 July 2019

DCAL would like to thank Deafland for their kind donation, made at their annual ball, held in Bristol on 25 May, 2019.

The donation will support the development of an information resource for families of deaf children. This generosity is very much appreciated, and will help the work of Professor Bencie Woll and Dr Kate Rowley with this resource development.

It is vitally important that families of deaf children have access to the appropriate information about language acquisition and language development, to give deaf children the best start in life. This resource was originally developed at the University of Connecticut in the USA, and will be adapted for British families and translated into BSL.

Deafland UK is a virtual deaf club with 11,000 members.

The Deafness Cognition and Language Research Centre (DCAL) is based at University College London. DCAL is a world-renowned centre of excellence for research and teaching.
