Rail Strikes and Examinations- Latest Advice 

It has been announced that the Rail Maritime and Transport (RMT) Union have cancelled planned strike action which was due to disrupt services on 25th and 26th May. All services will now run as normal on the above dates and there will be no impact on students travelling to examinations.

Margaret Kerly Memorial Award

Founded in memory of Dr Lily Margaret Kerly

  1. A prize known as the Margaret Kerly Memorial Award may be awarded from time to time.

  2. The prize is awarded by the Council on the recommendation of the Faculty of Life Sciences.

  3. The prize is awarded to an undergraduate student at the end of the first year of a BSc Degree in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

  4. The prize is awarded to the most deserving, not necessarily the most academically brillant student. Consideration will be given to financial hardship and the student's progress during the year.

  5. The value of the Prize is not more than £400.

  6. Applications should be made in witing to the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

  7. The qualifications of candidates are considered by the Head of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

  8. The award is announced in July.

  9. Awards are subject to the provisions of the General Regulations.
