Led by sound artist Tom Fisher and freshwater scientist Helen Greaves, this workshop inspired by underwater pond sounds will introduce the possibilities of the Borderlands Granular iPad app to create dynamic and organic 'sound environments' and compositions.

You will explore the ways in which underwater sound recordings can be manipulated using the app's sound sculpting capabilities and multi-touch gestures. You will have access to a variety of source material, gathered in the field by Tom, to use as compositional starting points, including a sound bank of underwater pond sounds such as aquatic plants and insects.

Please note participants will need to bring an iPad to the session with headphones suitable to work from.

This event is part of Performing Planet Activism, a series of interactions, performances and dialogues at UCL that bring together artists, activists, researchers and communities engaged in climate activism.
