Funny Women’s 18th Birthday Party
Due to the evolving Coronavirus outbreak and related concerns, all events from 16 March – 30 April 2020 at the Bloomsbury Theatre and Studio have been postponed or cancelled. We are working with the artists to reschedule these dates for Autumn 2020 onwards. If you have bought for shows affected by this then you will be emailed offering to transfer you tickets for the new dates or offered a full refund. We hope to be open again soon and our decision will be guided by the Government’s public health advice.
About Funny Women
Funny Women is celebrating its 18th birthday on Tuesday 21 April with a party in the company of some brilliant women who have changed the face of female comedy.
The evening will be hosted by Funny Women’s very own ‘matron’ Jo Brand who will be joined by an array of fabulously funny women including Shazia Mirza, Suzy Bennett, Kerry Godliman and more acts still to be confirmed.
All profits will support Funny Women’s community and outreach programmes in the UK, Ireland and Europe and help run and keep the prestigious Funny Women Awards free to enter.
Funny Women was founded in 2002 with the mission of giving women a voice through performing, writing and using humour in business and everyday life. The organisation is a not-for-profit community interest company (CIC) and is best known for the Funny Women Awards, an important platform for encouraging and developing new female comedy talent. Over 5,000 female performers, writers and creators have been showcased over 16 competitions across five different Award categories. 2020 is the 17th year of the Awards and the final will take place back here at the Bloomsbury on Thursday 24 September.
